If you are new to GNU/Linux before, NOOBS (new out of box software) is the best place. Select Yes to continue, and format your SD Card. NOOBS is a very simple way to create a bootable Raspbian linux SD card from any OS (windows, osx, etc) as it only implies downloading a zip file and unzipping it into a fresh formatted SD card.
